ADOPTED TROOP – BRAVO BATTERY

The City’s adopted military troop, Bravo Battery, is one of four batteries that make up the 1st Battalion, 1-320th Fields Artillery Regiment (FAR), 2nd Brigade assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles). Their home base is located in Kentucky at Ft. Campbell and are under the command of LTC Mark Sherkey. Their entire battalion consists of over 400 soldiers. To meet these brave individuals, please visit them on Facebook by typing in 1-320th FAR. This regiment is known as the “Top Guns”.

The other three batteries that make the 1st Battalion are adopted by neighboring cities. Our four cities work closely with one another to support this battalion. They are:

Alpha Battery – City of Crescent Springs; this battery is known as the “Rock Hard” and they are a combat division
Bravo Battery – City of Erlanger; this battery is known as the “Bulls” and they are a combat division
Golf Company – City of Villa Hills; this company is known as the “Ghost Ryders” and they are maintenance and support division
HHB – City of Lakeside Park; this group is known as “Havoc” and they are the medics and administration staff

Currently Bravo Battery and the rest of the 1st Battalion are state side at Ft. Campbell.

The City of Erlanger has an amazing community! The City would like to recognize those who have stepped forward and supported our adopted troop, Bravo Battery. They are: Arnett Elementary, Lindeman Elementary, Miles Elementary, St. Henry School, Tichenor Middle School, Erlanger-Elsmere Board of Education, Erlanger United Methodist Church, Heritage Bank, Walgreens, Silverlake, Colonial Cottage, Johnny’s Car Wash, Ameristop, Skyline, Erlanger Branch of the Kenton County Public Library, Puff-n-Stuff, Any Lab Test Now, The Bank of Kentucky, Bluegrass Meats, PakMail, All In Cafe, Erlanger residents, City employees and volunteers. Several organizations outside of Erlanger have also supported Bravo Battery. They are DHL, LaRosas, and BAWAC. Bravo Battery and the City of Erlanger thanks everyone for their letters, pictures, item donations that were shipped to Afghanistan, monetary donations, shipment of packages, and for conducting their own fundraisers.
