pOLICE Cadets

The Police Cadet Program is an education program for young men and women who are 14 to 20 years old. Exploring’s purpose is to provide experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.  Explores are ready to investigate the meaning of interdependence in their personal relationship and communities. Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organization in their communities.  The Police Explorer post matches these individuals to activities in law enforcement and help youth pursue their interests, growth, and development.

The mission of the Erlanger Police Cadet Program is to create a positive alternative to negative youth activities, such as drug abuse and involvement with gangs, to create a sense of acceptance and belonging to the “right” group,  to provide opportunities to participate in practical, real, and meaningful hands-on experience in law enforcement, to provide opportunity to try leadership roles and develop personal skills and to create a cooperative relationship between youth and adult members of our department.

If you have interesting joining the Explorers, email Sgt. Joe Scroggin at joe.scroggin@erlangerpd.com.
