The Erlanger and Elsmere Police Departments have received a grant from the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the enforcement of traffic laws within the two cities. Aggressive driving behaviors are the root causes of many traffic crashes. Both departments suspended grant activities during the past couple of months due to the global Covid-19 Pandemic. As of June 1, all grant activity has been
restored. Officers will be making our streets and neighborhoods safer with extra patrol.
Both agencies received a detailed map provided by the Office of Highway Safety detailing the locations of traffic crashes. This map is used to show officers where the problem locations are so they can be effective in their enforcement activities. The data suggests the number of traffic crashes is decreasing. The enforcement efforts are paying off and the efforts will continue in pushing down all aggressive driving behaviors.
Let’s make a stand by encouraging people to alter their aggressive driving behavior. Call 9-1-1 if you witness dangerous driving so we can make an attempt to alter aggressive
Please help us spread the word to as many people as possible. Let them know law enforcement will be out patrolling the interstates looking for intoxicated drivers and drivers displaying aggressive driving behavior.
