Republic Services Update:
As a result of COVID-19-related governmental declarations of emergency and regulations, we are preparing for significant shifts in solid waste and recycling flow. We anticipate an increase in residential volumes, as well as an increase in contamination of recyclables from residents as they move to work-from-home and stay-at-home orders are issued. Republic Services has asked us to notify residents of temporary changes to the waste collection service to maintain the safety of its employees so overall waste collection service is not affected. The following information and restrictions apply immediately for our residential customers and those commercial customers which use Republic Services:

  1. Limit residential curbside set-out to “Cart Contents Only”, meaning only the residential solid waste cart should be placed at the curb. No loose bags or items will be collected.
  2. Temporarily suspend yard waste and/or bulk collection services. As noted in #1, no separate bags or loose yard waste will be collected. These are less critical services to run during the pandemic and will free up our resources to focus on the priority of solid waste collection.
  3. Temporarily suspend large item collection at the curb. Again, any item which cannot fit into the cart should not be placed at the curb as it will not be collected.
  4. Please make sure you are properly separating recyclables. Please do not place regular solid waste in the recycling cart.
