sCHOOL rESOURCE OFFICERS/stand

The School Resource Officer (SRO) Program is staffed by four dedicated officers:. Each officer has successfully completed the Department of Criminal Justice Basic School Resource Officer training. Together, they support a variety of student activities and programs, including Youth Crime Watch, Chess Club, and school athletic programs.

In addition to his SRO duties, Officer Joel Shepherd serves as a STAND (Students Against Narcotic Dependency) Instructor at Arnett Elementary, Lindeman Elementary, and Miles Elementary. Through this role, he builds positive relationships with students and teaches valuable lessons about making healthy choices. His efforts reinforce the message that we are “Stronger Together” and help children understand that police officers are trusted friends and allies.
