Colonel Ted F. Martin was born in October 1963, grew up in Erlanger, Kentucky, and graduated from Lloyd Memorial High School in 1981. Ted was a member of Boy Scout Troop 138 in Erlanger where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was selected to work at Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico as a rock-climbing instructor in 1982.
From 1981 to 1985, Ted attended Morehead State University, Kentucky, and there joined the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps). Upon graduation, he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in Military Intelligence. Ted married Paula (nee Deaton) the following year, and they raised two daughters while being stationed at many military bases around the world.
During his 31 years in the Army, Ted spent one year in the Reserves while in college and then 30 years active duty, retiring as Colonel in 2015. His last assignment was in Charlottesville, Virginia where he and his family currently live. Since his retirement, Ted has continued to work with military contracts.
