NORM LYLE

Officer Norman Lyle has served the communities of Northern Kentucky for 34 years. He began his career in 1988 as an Auxiliary Officer before attending the police academy in 1989. Officer Lyle came to work for the Crescent Springs Police Department in 1995 where he worked his way through the ranks to Lieutenant. 

In 2008, the City of Crescent Springs decided to merge its police services with the Erlanger Police Department. It was at this time that Norm joined the Erlanger family. He came to the Erlanger Police Department as a Patrol Sergeant in 2008 where he worked until his retirement in 2013. 

However, Norm’s love for public service and law enforcement brought him back from retirement in 2014 to rejoin the Erlanger Police Department. He initially returned as a part-time officer and eventually came back as a full-time police officer. Officer Lyle worked for several years as a detective with the “E-CAT” Team. Officer Lyle currently serves as a dedicated traffic officer for the police department.

Officer Lyle has served in many roles throughout his career. He was the commander of the SWAT Team, a Field Training Officer, a firearms instructor, a firearms armorer, and a member of the Erlanger Police Color Guard.

Norm meets any challenge given to him with enthusiasm and his love for his career is apparent. Norm is a dependable friend and colleague. 

When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and granddaughter.
