Mountain Bike Unit
Lieutenant Joe Scroggin oversees the Police Mountain Bike Unit, which currently consists of four specially trained and certified officers. These officers are assigned across all three shifts, allowing the unit to have a consistent and visible presence throughout the community.
The Mountain Bike Unit has proven to be an invaluable asset to both the department and the public. Bike officers provide a more approachable presence, building personal connections with residents that go beyond the wave from a patrol car. At the same time, their mobility and low profile allow them to effectively detect and deter criminal activity. By combining community engagement with proactive policing, the Mountain Bike Unit continues to make a positive and lasting impact on Erlanger.
