Improvement Projects

Here are a few of the City’s upcoming projects as well as updates on others.

Please be mindful to slow down in construction zones to help keep workers and drivers safe this season.

Feel free to contact the City of Erlanger Public Works Department with comments or questions at info@erlangerpw.com or 859-727-7992.

Sidewalk Improvement Projects

The Brightleaf Boulevard sidewalk improvements, Phase 1, have been awarded to Straight Edge Construction and are scheduled to commence in April. The existing sidewalk on the south side of the road will be demolished and reconstructed. The new sidewalk will extend from Turkeyfoot Road to the intersection of Brightleaf Boulevard and Narrows Road.

Street Improvement Projects

The Sycamore Tree road repair project is slated to start in late May with asphalt repairs. The road will be closed from Houston Road to the first stop sign until all the repairs are made.

The Yager Court reconstruction has been awarded to Jefferson Construction and is slated to begin in late April, weather permitting. This project entails a complete replacement of the concrete street, sidewalks, and driveway aprons.

The project at Kentaboo Avenue & Virginia Avenue has been awarded to Jefferson Construction and is scheduled to begin in May. This project involves a full-depth concrete street replacement, the addition of sidewalks, and selective driveway apron replacements.

The Narrows Road Bridge project has been awarded to Hinkle Construction and is presently in progress. This project includes the installation of a new bridge deck and beams.

The design phase for the Eons Park construction is currently underway. The initial priorities include the addition of a dog park, crosswalks at the intersection of Houston Road and Sycamore Tree Lane, and a walking path along Sycamore Tree Lane. Portions of these projects are presently out for bid.

The Sherbourne Park updates are currently in progress. This project is a collaborative endeavor between Jefferson Construction, Humphrey Concrete, and the Public Works Department. A new concrete walkway and plaza, seat wall, and gathering shelter have been constructed. The subsequent phase involves the installation of new playground equipment, which will be undertaken by GameTime Playcore.
