Improvement Projects

Here are a few of the City’s upcoming projects as well as updates on others.

Please be mindful to slow down in construction zones to help keep workers and drivers safe this season.

Feel free to contact the City of Erlanger Public Works Department with comments or questions at info@erlangerpw.com or 859-727-7992.

Sidewalk Improvement Projects

With the emergence of warmer temperatures and a string of days without rain, Humphrey Concrete has completed the annual Sidewalk Replacement Program Contract in the Cherry Hill Subdivision. Building on the previous years’ sidewalk work, the City is working to incrementally improve the City to create an inviting and accessible space for pedestrians and foot traffic.

Additionally, the City is installing additional sidewalk adjacent to Narrows Road to create a dedicated, safe, and graded path connecting the area’s neighbors and neighborhoods.

Street Improvement Projects

Upon the completion of Narrows Road and Locust Street, the city has initiated the bidding process on the following roads: Graves, Home, McAlpin, Hope, and Linwood Avenue. The selected projects follow the City’s three-year plan to continually improve and maintain the City’s infrastructure.

Graves and Home Streets will be receiving a mill and fill. This is a removal and replacement of the existing asphalt on the street, leaving a smooth, strong, and clean road. The contract has been awarded to Eaton Asphalt, and a start date will be provided following the completion of the high school’s project.

McAlpin and Hope Streets will also be receiving a mill and fill and has been awarded to Riegler Blacktop; the City is awaiting a start date.

Linwood Avenue will be getting a complete concrete rebuild including new sidewalks on the north side of the street. The project has been awarded to Jefferson Construction and has an anticipated start date around late fall 2026.

Park Improvement Projects

Building on last year’s Eons Park development momentum, the City is in full swing on creating a brand new dog park as well as a bike pump and jump track. This phase of the project is a large step towards the City’s end goal for Eons Park.

The dog park will be divided into two areas and will feature open green space and a large-scale mural painted by Dixie Heights School District. The bike park will include small and large jumps suitable for a wide range of age groups from kids to adults. The City looks forward to a grand opening very soon!

Future development for Eons Park is in the planning stages as the City works to solidify outside funding from grants and donors. The City hopes to announce positive news about recent funding opportunities for the park.
