CITY OF ERLANGER DEVELOPMENT GROWTH AND EMPLOYMENT (EDGE) INCENTIVE
The EDGE incentive is available to certain qualified City of Erlanger businesses to promote job creation and relieve unemployment. Both new businesses and existing, expanding businesses may qualify for an incentive.
Eligibility
To be eligible, businesses must be located within the City of Erlanger and meet all of the following:
- Have an annual payroll of at least $750,000
- Meet one of the following:
- Be a new business
- Be an existing business proposing to spend at least $500,000 in capital improvements
- Be an existing business proposing to add at least $750,000 in payroll and a minimum of 10 new jobs
- Not be a sexually oriented business
- The proposed business or improvements must increase future revenue or job creation, decrease blight, increase property values or improve a previously documented environmental hazard
Incentive Details
Qualifying businesses with a payroll between $750,000 and $20,000,000 are eligible for an annual reimbursement of up to one-third (33.33%) of the annual total city occupational license fee (1.5%). Qualifying businesses with a payroll exceeding $20,000,000 are eligible for an incentive of up to two-thirds (66.66%) of the annual occupational license fee. The term of the incentive may be up to ten annual periods. The amount of incentive provided to the applicant will be determined based on the number and quality of jobs being added to the community, potential impacts to the community and city services, and any previous City investments or incentives associated with the development.
Application Requirements
To apply, the following information must be submitted:
- A completed application form
- A description of the organizational structure and business ownership
- A description of the history of the business
- A description of the proposed business activity, capital expenses and development plans
- A copy of the deed or lease agreement
- A description of the functions and duties of each proposed position of employment in the proposed new or expanded eligible business activity, along with pay information
- A description of how the proposed business activity or capital improvements will meet the incentive program objectives
