SPECIAL MEETING

ERLANGER CITY COUNCIL

May 19, 2026

Mayor Jessica Fette called the special council meeting of the Erlanger City Council to order in the City of Erlanger Council Chambers at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 19, 2026. 

The following Members of City Council were present: Chris Farmer, Michele Fields, Tyson Hermes, Jennifer Jasper-Lucas, Diana Niceley, Renee Skidmore, and Renee Wilson. The following Council Members were not present: Tom Cahill and Rebecca Reckers.

Also present were: Mayor Jessica Fette, Chief of Police Mike Leming, City Administrator Mark Collier, City Clerk Sherry Hoffman, and City Attorney Jack Gatlin. 

MINUTES – M/S, Niceley-Farmer, that the minutes from the regular council meeting held on April 7, 2026 and the special council meeting held on April 28, 2026 be approved as written. All ayes, no nays, motion carried.

MAYOR’S REPORT – Mayor Fette reported on the following:

  • Fiscal Year 2027 Budget – Thanked Director of Finance and HR Kara Kramer for the work she put into the budget this year, as well as the other department leaders; she reviewed budget highlights.

SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS – Mayor Fette proclaimed May 20, 2026 Mike Zang Day in the City of Erlanger.

Mayor Fette proclaimed May 21, 2026 K9 Officer Keno Day in the City of Erlanger.

LEGISLATION – Mr. Gatlin read the second reading of Ordinance No. 2593 adopting a budget for the City of Erlanger for the fiscal year beginning on July 1, 2026, and providing that no monies shall be expended by or on behalf of the City of Erlanger except in accordance with that adopted budget. M/S, Farmer-Hermes, to approve the ordinance as written. Discussion followed. All ayes, no nays, motion carried. 

Mr. Gatlin read the second reading of Ordinance No. 2594 establishing a personnel pay and classification plan for all Erlanger employees and nonelected city officers. M/S, Jasper Lucas-Niceley, to approve the ordinance as written. All ayes, no nays, motion carried. 

Mr. Gatlin read the second reading of Ordinance No. 2595 establishing a public safety facility restricted fund balance for the purpose of accumulating and reserving funds for the planning, design, construction, renovation, and equipping of a Department of Public Safety Facility for the City of Erlanger. M/S, Wilson-Hermes, to approve the ordinance as written. All ayes, no nays, motion carried.
