The meeting of the Urban Forest Commission (UFC) was called to order by Johnna Herrmann at the Erlanger Public Works facility on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Meeting Minutes – April Meeting
The July 16th meeting minutes were approved by Todd Herrmann and Vicki Kyle.
Discussion
Reviewed the plans for the Fall Arbor Day celebration:
- The Fall Arbor Day celebration will be located at the Montgomery Street Public Works facility on October 10, from 10:00 until 1:00.
- Parking will be available in the rear (second floor) of the public works administration building.
- Registration, lunch and a door prize raffle will take place in the second floor meeting room.
- Participants will be asked to register and sign a liability waver to participate.
- Tours of the public works building will be available.
- Multiple trees will be planted around the public work property. The proposed trees are:
- Frans Fontaine Hornbeam,
- Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry
- Paperbark Maple
- Crimson Sentry Norway Maple Low Branched
- Urban Sunset Maple
- Kevin will review the plans with Lauryn Groce to allow her to advertise the event through the City’s multimedia, and also signs at the Summer Sendoff event.
- Kenny and Johnna will visit local merchants to solicit door prize donations.
UFC Upcoming Meetings
- Next meeting: Thursday, September 17 at 4:00 p.m.
- October 15 meeting will be cancelled and replaced by October 10 Fall Arbor Day
- November 19 meeting will be cancelled
- December 17 meeting will be cancelled
- January 21 meeting scheduled
