LAWRENCE J. HOSKINDS

US ARMY SP4

Lawrence offered a first person account of his military service.

“I joined the Army because I love our country so much. I feel our country is the greatest country in the world, and it is definitely worth fighting for. I served in Okinawa first. I was then sent to Vietnam. My military occupational specialty in Vietnam was Unit Armour. I lost several of my friends, and a lot of us experienced the shared grief of losing friends. All in all, I still love our country, and I still believe our country is worth fighting for.

I served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. I was stationed in Saigon. I served in Saigon for one year. After that one year, the war was declared over. At that point, I was sent home.”

Banner is on display in Erlanger, from May – September, 2025 – 2027.
