Meeting Minutes – April Meeting

The April 16th meeting minutes were approved by Todd Herrmann and Vicki Kyle.

Discussion

  • Discussed the Spring Arbor Day celebration.  Jason reported that 150 trees were available.  About 60% were distributed at Public works on April 16.  About 25% were distributed at the Graeter’s on the Glades event on April 22.
  • It was recommended in the future that each bag of seedlings be labeled with the City logo and the type of tree. It was also recommended that there be a small poster describing each tree with photos and size of the tree at maturity at the distribution site.
  • Discussed the Fall Arbor Day celebration.  It appears the best location would be at the Public Works facility on October 10, from 10:00 until 1:00.
  • Discussed the type of trees to be planted and the location at the facility.  This will be reviewed at the August meeting.
  • Discussed the possibility of distributing commemorative a tee shirt for the event.  This will be reviewed at the August meeting.
  • Discussed the very in depth Tree City application info to be supplied to the Arbor Day foundation.  It was recommended that a one page summary of this be posted on the City web site.
