The City of Erlanger has selected Premier Athletics of Northern Kentucky as the September Business Spotlight. The Business Spotlight Program highlights unique businesses within Erlanger by showcasing their history and contributions to the community.
Premier Athletics is dedicated to competitive cheerleading, gymnastics, tumbling, dance, and more. The gym was founded nearly 30 years ago and now consists of eight locations, including one right here in Erlanger on Kenton Lands Road.
Rosalind Schmidt, an Erlanger native, is the General Manager of Premier Athletics of Northern Kentucky. She originally managed Spirit of Kentucky, but moved the gym to Erlanger after they merged with Premier Athletics. Three of Rosalind’s adult children now work with her in the gym on a full-time basis.
In addition to providing year-long and half-year competitive teams, Premier Athletics of Northern Kentucky also offers daily programming for boys and girls to learn more about cheerleading, tumbling, and dance. Along with structured classes, the gym also offers birthday parties and “Fun Gyms,” which are an open-play style of exploring the facility.
Nick Eads, Director of Economic Development for the City of Erlanger, said: “Premier Athletics of Northern Kentucky helps build a stronger community inside and outside of the gym. Every time their students step on the mat, they’re learning skills that help set them up for a lifetime of success.”
