William E. Dadosky, Jr. served on the battleship USS South Dakota, which was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. He was trained as a sharpshooter and manned one of the guns on the ship. While serving in that capacity, he shot down a Japanese plane and was awarded the Bronze Star.
William was born in Portsmouth, OH and moved with his family to Erlanger in 1964. He worked for the National Cash Register Company (NCR) for forty years. Bill and his wife, Doris, were lifelong members of St. Henry Church. The couple sent all ten of their children through the St. Henry school system. Bill was a Knight of Columbus, Fr. Bealer Council, and volunteered many years with the St. Henry Credit Union. He died in St. Elizabeth Hospice on July 8, 2009.
