Urban Forest Commission
February 19, 2026

Public Works in attendance: Jason lames, Kenny Allen
The meeting of the Urban Forest Commission (UFC) was called to order by Johnna Hermann at the
Erlanger Public Works facility on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Meeting Minutes – January Meeting
The January 15″ meeting minutes were approved by Tom Mauntel and Vicki Kyle.
Discussion
- We received information regarding a grant through the Kentucky Division of Forestry. Kenny
Allen and the Public Work Department have been reviewing the grant application. This is a
regional grant that can be applied to only some areas of Erlanger. It appears that we will not be
able to utilize this grant due to our current needs. Kenny will continue to review. - Several types of trees were recommended and discussed for the new Eons Dog Park: Red-osier
dogwood (cornus sericea), Yellowwood (cladrastis kentukea), Kousa dogwood (cornus kousa),
Willow oak, (Quercus phellos), Columnar Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus ‘Fastigiata), Slender
Silhouette sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua), - Kenny will take these recommendations under consideration as the project develops.
- Arbor Day tree seedlings will be distributed from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the April meeting
UFC Upcoming Meetings
- March 19 meeting will be cancelled
- Next meeting: Thursday, April 16 at 4:00 p.m.

Adjournment: Todd Herrmann made a motion to adjourn at 4:45 p.m. Vicki Kyle seconded the motion.
